Reports

Reports in the project sidebar holds every report you can run. It shows when you can run at least one report. Admins see all of them. Supervisors and engineers see the reports that cover their own work, such as their own diaries and dockets.

Running a report

  1. Open Reports and pick a report from the list on the left.
  2. Choose your filters. Most reports start on a sensible date range, such as the last 30 days. In a list of people, each person’s email shows under their name, and search finds either. When two people share a name, the closed list shows the chosen person’s email beside the name.
  3. Where a report can say how big it will be, a line under the filters reads About N rows before you start. It reads Up to N rows when some filters apply only while the file is made; the file can then have fewer rows.
  4. Click Generate.

Your report starts straight away and appears at the top of Recent reports. You can leave the page while it is created.

Some reports let you choose how you get the file:

  • Download: get the file from Recent reports when it is ready. No email.
  • Email me: we also email you when it is ready.

When it’s ready

Some reports download by themselves in the tab you started them from, with no email: Material Dockets, Daily Diaries, Prestart Report, Workforce Log and Onsite Workers. The others email you.

  • Email: “Report ready for download!” with a Download Report button. The email says how long the file is available.
  • Recent reports: a Ready report shows Download.

If nothing matched your filters, you get a “No results for your report” email instead. If a report could not be created, you get a “Your report didn’t finish” email with the reason. Both have a View Report button.

The button in each email opens the report’s own page. It shows Download Report when the file is ready, Delete Report when nothing matched, and Run Again when the report failed or its file expired. Delete Report takes you back to the report, or to the page you start it from. A download that fails also opens this page, with the reason. If you have no project open, the page opens in the report’s project; for a report that covers every project, choose a project first. If you are working in another project, you stay there and the page names the report’s project.

Your reports

Recent reports lists the reports you have run, newest first. Each one shows its status:

StatusWhat it means
QueuedWaiting to start.
CreatingBeing created now.
ReadyReady to download.
No resultsNothing matched your filters. There is no file.
FailedThe report could not be created. Hover for why.
ExpiredThe file is no longer kept. Use Run Again.

Each row has:

  • Download when the report is Ready.
  • Run Again when it is Failed or Expired. It creates a fresh report with the same filters, using today’s data.
  • Delete, which removes the report from your list.

Your reports are private to you. Nobody else, including admins, can see or download them.

How long files are kept

  • Files: 90 days after the report is ready (Inductions Export: 30 days). After that the report shows Expired. Use Run Again for a fresh copy.
  • Your list: each report stays in Recent reports for 400 days, or until you delete it.

What’s in your file

A report only contains the records you can open in Lacroo. A supervisor who can see only their own diaries gets only their own diaries.

Export whole project in Roles & Permissions lets a role export every record on its projects instead. It is on for Engineers by default.

Suppliers

Suppliers have Reports in the supplier portal. A supplier report covers every project you are, or were, linked to, including projects you were removed or suspended from, and only ever your own dockets. See Supplier Dockets Export.

Spreadsheets and Excel

  • CSV files open in Excel with names and accents intact.
  • Dates and times are in each project’s time zone. See Dates & Times.
  • Text that looks like a formula (starting with =, +, - or @) is kept as plain text, so opening the file never runs anything. Numbers stay numbers.
