Cost Allocation

Step ④ of a supplier contract lists everything the contract can bill — rate lines, allowances, overtime and penalty rules, paid breaks, plant — and the payment line each one books to. Allocation never changes what a docket bills; it decides which line of the supplier’s PO, schedule of rates or rate card the cost lands on.

Choosing a line

Each row’s Allocated to control opens a searchable list of the project’s payment lines for this supplier. Every option shows two lines: what the line is and what it pays, then exactly which line it is.

Where the line comes fromFirst lineSecond line
Purchase order (from your ERP)CW3 Ord Time · $55.39/hrPO 3114/M00086 · Ln 1

The closed control shows the same two lines for the line you chose, so two lines with the same description on different POs are easy to tell apart.

When the lines span more than one PO or schedule, they are grouped under it, in order, and listed by line number.

Searching

Type any part of the description, PO or schedule number, or cost code. Every word must match. To find a line number, type ln 3 (or line 3).

Rows that inherit

Overtime, penalty and break rows can Inherit base line: they book to the same line as the worker’s rate line. Choose a specific line to override it.

Closed lines

A purchase order line that is received in full, or closed in COINS, is no longer offered. A subcontract line is no longer offered once it is fully invoiced (within 1 cent of its order value, or over it); if a credit brings it back below, it is offered again. Lacroo checks COINS every hour.

A row that already books to a closed line keeps working: it still prices and exports. Its control names the line as Closed so you can switch it to a current line. Choose Closed lines in the filter to list them.

Removed lines

If a row books to a line that has since been removed from the PO or schedule, the row is marked Needs attention and its control still names the removed line in red. Pick a current line to fix it.

Bills to on a rate line

The Bills to control on a rate line or rule card is the same picker, with the same detail. See Rate Schedule.
