Cost Codes

A project’s cost codes live at Config → Cost Codes in the admin sidebar. The page opens on the full list, one card per stage, with every code the stage holds. Long lists scroll smoothly; the search box looks across all stages.

Hiding a cost code

An admin with the cost-codes permission can hide a code for one project. Each row has an eye:

• Eye — the code is offered everywhere. Click it to hide the code.
• Crossed eye — the code is hidden and marked Hidden. Click it to show the code again.

Each stage card also has Hide all and Show all. They change every code in that stage that is not already in that state, and respect the search box. A Show hidden option appears once anything is hidden. Turn it off to see the list as the pickers do.

What hiding changes

A hidden code is no longer offered where someone picks a cost code: the web pickers, the mobile picker and Copilot. Hiding is per project and per stage: the same code in another stage, or on another project, is unaffected.

What it does not change

Dockets, diaries, activities and exports that already use the code keep it and still show it. Engineer assignments keep a hidden code too; it is only no longer offered for new assignments.

Hiding does not stop the code reaching a record by another route, and showing it again restores it everywhere at once.

Engineer assignments

Manage Engineer Assignments opens a wide drawer. Pick an engineer to tick their codes, or switch to By Cost Code to see who holds each code. Both lists show every code and scroll inside the drawer.
