Connect Power BI
Bring your workforce log and your Pro reports into Power BI and keep them refreshed, with the same columns your Core reports use.
The same steps are on the Guide tab under Org → Integrations, with buttons that open each dialog and your connection details ready to copy.
Who does what
- An admin connects Power BI in Lacroo (step 1).
- IT, or whoever owns Power BI, connects Power BI and schedules the refresh (steps 2 and 3).
On the Guide tab, Copy setup for IT copies the setup steps with your feed address and organisation id, ready to send. Send the token separately, such as through a password manager. Or choose Send setup to IT when the token is shown, to email IT the same steps with a link that shows the token once (Send setup to IT).
Start here
- Connect a tool. On Org → Integrations, choose Connect a tool, then Power BI. The report groups start on and Lists starts off; leave Prices and personal details off unless your reports need them. Check the summary, choose Create connection, then copy the token.
- Connect Power BI. In Power BI Desktop, choose Get data → OData feed and paste
https://api.lacroo.ai/odata/v4/. Choose Basic, enter any user name, and paste the token as the password. - Schedule refresh. Publish the report. In the Power BI Service, set the data source credentials to Basic with the same token, then turn on Scheduled refresh.
Without permission to manage integrations, make your own token on Your access tokens instead.
What you need
- A connection for Power BI, made with Connect a tool under Org → Integrations. See Connections.
- Its groups decide which tables Power BI can read.
workforce_log_v1needs Workforce & sign-ons; each table’s group is on Report tables. - Money columns are blank unless Prices is on.
- Turn on Contact details or Diversity details only if your report uses those columns.
Connect in Power BI Desktop
- Choose Get data → OData feed.
- Paste
https://api.lacroo.ai/odata/v4/and choose OK. - Choose Basic. Enter any user name, and paste the token as the password.
- In the Navigator, tick
workforce_log_v1or any report table and choose Load or Transform Data.
Every Pro report is a table too: see Report tables. For Core’s combined data and activity log layouts, see Combined report columns and Activity log columns.
Refresh in the Power BI Service
- Publish the report.
- Open the semantic model’s Settings → Data source credentials and choose Basic with the same token. No gateway is needed.
- Turn on Scheduled refresh.
A full refresh may briefly reach the limit; Power BI waits and retries automatically.
No Windows PC
Build a dataflow in the Power BI Service instead of using Power BI Desktop.
- In your workspace, choose New item → Dataflow Gen1.
- Choose Define new tables, then OData.
- Paste
https://api.lacroo.ai/odata/v4/as the URL. - Choose Basic. Enter any user name, and paste the token as the password. Leave the data gateway as none.
- Tick
workforce_log_v1and choose Transform data. - Choose Save & close, then Refresh now.
To refresh on a schedule, open the dataflow’s Settings and turn on Scheduled refresh.
Refresh in full
Leave Incremental refresh off so every change, including to older records, comes through.
When changes show up
At the next refresh. Demographic columns show the worker’s current answers for that project.
Coming from the Core connector
Paste the rename step from Workforce log columns so your existing visuals keep working.
Connect Excel
- In Excel, choose Data, then Get Data, From Other Sources, From OData Feed, and paste
https://api.lacroo.ai/odata/v4/. - Choose Basic. Type any user name, and paste the token as the password.
- Tick the tables you want and choose Load. To update, choose Refresh All.
Other tables
| Table | What it holds |
|---|---|
sign_ons | One row per sign-on, with its project, worker and shift. |
projects | Your projects, with their time zones. |
workers | The people who work on your projects. |
member_fields | Each worker’s answers on each project. |
Every table and field is listed in the Objects reference.
Using the API directly
Set TOKEN to your token and ORG_ID to your organisation’s id (the org.id from checking a token).
The same rows, as JSON:
curl -g -H "Authorization: Bearer $TOKEN" \
"https://api.lacroo.ai/v1/orgs/$ORG_ID/views/workforce_log_v1?filter[sign_on_date][gte]=2026-03-01&limit=500"As an OData feed:
curl -u "powerbi:$TOKEN" "https://api.lacroo.ai/odata/v4/workforce_log_v1"- Paging: pass the
next_cursorfrom one page ascursoron the next. - Changes only: start with
delta=start, then pass eachnext_deltaback asdelta. Changes appear about 30 seconds after they are made.
Both are described in the Objects reference.
Troubleshooting
| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| 401 | Check the token, and that the connection uses Basic. |
| A table is missing | Turn on its group in Edit access. |
| 403 | The token can’t see this. Check its groups and projects in Edit access. |
| Blank money columns | Turn on Prices in Edit access. |
| 429 | Nothing. A full refresh may briefly reach the limit; Power BI waits and retries automatically. |
| 501 | A step Power BI can’t send to Lacroo. Move that step after the rows load. |
| Blank demographics | The worker hasn’t answered, or isn’t a member of that project. |
