Prestart Report

A spreadsheet of the prestarts on one project for a date range: one row per prestart. The file is named Prestart Report - <From> to <To> by <Supervisors>.csv, for example Prestart Report - Sep 1, 2026 to Sep 7, 2026 by Jordan Smith, Taylor Brooks.csv.

Who can run it

Anyone with Prestarts › Export prestarts. By default that is the master admin, organisational manager, project admin, engineer, senior supervisor and supervisor roles. Labour, operator, client and supplier users cannot run it.

PersonPrestarts they get
AdminEvery prestart on the project.
Supervisor and senior supervisorThe prestarts where they are the primary supervisor or an associated supervisor.
EngineerThe whole project when Export whole project is on for their role (the default). When it is off, the prestarts whose primary or associated supervisor is one of their assigned supervisors.

An engineer with no assigned supervisors gets every prestart on the project.

How to run it

Open Reports › Diaries & prestarts › Prestart Report, or click Export on Prestarts. Export fills in the dates, supervisors and status you are looking at; it never starts a report by itself.

FilterWhat it does
From, ToWhole days in the project’s calendar, both included. Up to 732 days. Starts on this month so far.
SupervisorsOnly prestarts whose primary supervisor is one of these people. Empty means all supervisors.
StatusOnly prestarts with these statuses (Draft, Saved, Published). Empty means all.
Add prestart questionsOff by default. On adds one column per prestart question after the fixed columns (see below).

Click Generate. The file downloads by itself when it is ready. It is also kept in Recent reports for 90 days. There is no email unless the report fails.

The file name lists the supervisors you picked, sorted. With none picked it is the one supervisor’s name when you can only see one supervisor’s prestarts, otherwise All Supervisors. A long list becomes 7 Supervisors. Characters a file name cannot hold, such as /, are left out; an apostrophe (O'Brien) is kept.

The columns

The first 13 columns are always the same, with Lacroo Core’s headers:

ColumnWhat it shows
ProjectThe project’s name.
SupervisorThe prestart’s primary supervisor.
Prestart DateThe prestart’s day in the project’s calendar, as YYYY-MM-DD.
Site LocationThe project location picked on the prestart, else the location typed on it.
Safety is My Way, Incident Alerts, Details from Previous Shift, New Hazards, Work Planned, General BusinessAnswers to the six safety prompts (see below). Blank when the project does not ask that prompt.
Activity DescriptionThe prestart’s activity description, line breaks kept.
Published OnWhen the prestart was published, as hh:mm AM, YYYY-MM-DD in the project’s time zone. Blank when it is not published.
Latest Changes OnWhen the prestart last changed, in the same format (see below).

A question removed from the prestart form later still counts when a prestart in the chosen dates answered it, for the safety prompts and for Add prestart questions alike. An added question column keeps its old place.

The six safety prompts

Each safety-prompt column is filled from a prestart question worded like the prompt. Case, spaces and punctuation are ignored, and only text and long-text questions count.

ColumnQuestion wording
Safety is My WaySafety is My Way / Behaviours Demonstrated / Updates
Incident AlertsIncident Alerts / Bulletins Communicated
Details from Previous ShiftProvide details of incidents, hazard observations, near misses or issues from previous shift
New HazardsIdentify any new hazards and interactions between work groups
Work PlannedIdentify work planned / scheduled for the next 5 days
General BusinessGeneral Business / HSEQ - Issues for Discussion

If several questions match, the first answer in form order is used. A question called just “General Business” is a different question and is not used here.

Add prestart questions

Off: the file has exactly Lacroo Core’s 13 columns.

On: after the 13 columns comes one column per prestart question answered on any prestart of the project, in form order. Questions used for the six safety-prompt columns are left out. A question named like a fixed column, or like another question, gets (2) after the second one. A blank cell means the prestart did not answer that question.

Answer typeHow it prints
DateSep 3, 2026
Dropdown, radioThe chosen option.
Multi-select, day of weekThe ticked options, joined with commas.
CheckboxYes or No.
PersonThe person’s name. Blank if the person can’t be found.
AddressStreet, suburb, state and postcode, joined with commas.
FileThe file names.
TableOne line per row, cells joined with |.
Text, number, time and yearAs entered.

Latest Changes On

Latest Changes On is the last change to the prestart itself and its question answers. Changes to its activities, resources, files, comments, alert responses and sign-ons do not count.

Prestarts brought over from Lacroo Core show Core’s own last-modified time until they are saved or published again.

Status

Prestarts that were saved in Lacroo Core show as Draft.

Spreadsheet safety

A cell that starts with =, +, -, @, a tab or a return character gets a leading ', so Excel shows it as text and never runs it as a formula. Numbers such as -5, and a cell that is just -, stay as they are.

Differences from Lacroo Core

  • Only the chosen project’s prestarts, never another project’s.
  • An empty Supervisors choice means all supervisors; it never drops anyone’s prestarts.
  • The dates start on this month so far.
  • Dates and times use the project’s calendar and time zone, not the computer’s.
  • Times show the real minutes.
  • The whole last day is included, up to midnight.
  • Every cell is escaped properly, so commas, quotes and line breaks stay in their cell.
  • Rows are always in the same order: by prestart date and time, then supervisor.
  • The six safety-prompt columns are filled when the project asks those prompts.
  • When nothing matches, you see “No prestarts found for these dates.” instead of a failed download.
  • The file name says whose prestarts are in it.
